Outside of two teams vying for the NFL Championship, the off-season is in full swing. With the Senior Bowl in Alabama grabbing headlines this week, focus has shifted to the 2025 NFL Draft and who the Jets could be interested in.
A number of analysts have been releasing their early projections, including NFL.com man Bucky Brooks, and he had the Jets going in a different direction.
While most people are projecting receivers, defensive tackles and tight ends to the Jets, Bucky believes that the strengthening of the offensive line is where the priority should lie, and while I’m not sure I’m there yet, the thought of having two bookend tackles for the next 5-10 years is appealing:
New York Jets - OT - Will Campbell - #7
Building up the trenches is a part of the Jets’ plan to compete with the AFC’s heavyweights. Campbell is a rock-solid offensive tackle prospect with the size, strength and skill to dominate on the edges from Day 1.
Campbell is an outstanding prospect, and although his arms are shorter than you’d want, his lateral quickness, strength and leverage make him an appealing prospect for the Jets.
In Bucky’s mock draft, the likes of Mason Graham and Tetairoa McMillan were already taken, and in that scenario I can see the logic in taking Campbell. Although Tyler Warren and Will Campbell were still available.
