In a standout performance over this past weekend’s preseason action, Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie linebacker Nick Jackson emerged as the only NFL player across the entire slate of preseason games to record both a sack and an interception.
Greg Auman of Fox Sports noted the feat earlier Sunday.
Officially, with all the games in the books for the weekend, we can now say he was the lone player with such an accomplishment.
Jackson’s breakout performance serves as a promising glimpse of what the Bucs may have in store at linebacker. His ability to contribute on both pass rush and coverage hints at a valuable role as the regular season draws near.
If he continues to make plays like this, Jackson may well secure a spot on the active roster and become a player to watch once the games truly begin in just a few weeks. And in the bigger picture further validates how well the team has put this team together with the young players currently on the roster.
