Tampa Bay continues to re-sign their own.
The 2025 offseason is off and running. Tampa Bay's plan has become quite clear. The Buccaneers have, while addressing the needs last season clearly exposed, taken care of their own.
In comparison to offseasons in recent memory, Jason Licht and the Bucs' front office have had a relatively simple task this time around— Re-sign Lavonte David and Chris Godwin, address the team's pass-rush, and keep last year's team intact. Coming off a year that required deals to made with a franchise quarterback, one of the team's most storied names, a fresh face that was minted as the league's most expensive safety, and anchoring of protection for that franchise quarterback's blindside for years to come, 2025's offseason plan is a peaceful stroll down the Riverwalk.
Tampa Bay has already checked off the boxes of Chris Godwin's return and adding a significant upgrade to Todd Bowles' pass-rush.
The remaining piece of the puzzle? Keeping last year's team intact.
Greg Gaines has been a rotational defender for the Buccaneers since 2023. He’s tallied 41 tackles and two sacks in a Bucs’ uniform. 2025 will be Gaines’ seventh season in the league and third in Tampa Bay, after agreeing to terms on a new one-year deal.
