Oh how the NFL is a war of attrition. This we know, but it seems like the casualties have been faster and furious-er to start 2025.

Just an day after watching Mac Jones and half of a San Francisco 49ers JV squad take down the Los Angeles Rams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers supplied their own roster on the hospital rotation.

Most notably, running back Bucky Irving and cornerback Jamel Dean.

Mike Evans had not been a significant threat to make it to this game, leaving them with Chris Godwin and rookie Emeka Egbuka as highly-capable receivers.

Irving is a very versatile back, especially in the pass game this year, having already 2 TD and 10.2 Yards per Reception.

It’s the second time in a row the Seahawks will face a team who is down their primary running back as well as multiple players at the cornerback position.

Still, these things have a way of balancing themselves out, as the vast majority of NFL games this season have still been close contests.

It makes the Buccaneers slightly less diverse of an offensive attack, though not necessarily less explosive. On the defensive side, it leaves the door open again for Jaxon Smith-Njigba to be clutch in clutch time. Not too many corners guarding Smith-Njigba that well this year, let alone backups.

We will potentially see more on Seattle’s injury situation on Friday afternoon.
