BTB Wednesday Discussion: Which NFL head coach opening is the most intriguing?

The Dallas Cowboys are in the middle of looking for their next defensive coordinator, but they are hardly the only NFL team in the middle of trying to assemble a staff for the future.

Tuesday brought with it significant news across the league as a whole as Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin stepped down as their head coach. Tomlin’s run in Pittsburgh was pretty incredible, and given that he was only the third coach in their franchise’s storied history it makes their search for number four all the more interesting.

Pittsburgh’s AFC North rivals in the Baltimore Ravens are in a similar boat after moving on from John Harbaugh. There are now nine openings across the league, more than a quarter of the entire NFL:

  • Tennessee Titans
  • New York Giants
  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Las Vegas Raiders
  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Miami Dolphins
  • Pittsburgh Steelers

Of these teams there are four that will play the Cowboys next season (five total games counting the Giants). Our discussion prompt today isn’t necessarily about the Cowboys, it is which opening you think is the most intriguing.

Some might say the Ravens because of the presence of quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Steelers obviously carry a rich history. Las Vegas holds the number one overall pick. There are a lot of arguments to be made.
