It’s been a minute since the Dallas Cowboys rocked the state of their roster on Tuesday by trading for Logan Wilson and Quinnen Williams. In order to get the deals done they had to send away their 2026 second-rounder, 2026 seventh-rounder, the better of their two 2027 first-round picks, and Mazi Smith.

Offering away that much draft capital on the surface suggests that the Cowboys are focused on the here and now. Given that they are 3-5-1 at the bye week it feels like even the most optimistic person inside of their building would have a hard time selling that.

This is why the trades feel like an advanced move to start building for the future. Wilson and Williams are each under team control through the 2027 season which helps crystallize the proverbial window that the team has next to recent deals for players like Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Jake Ferguson, Tyler Smith, DaRon Bland, some recent draftees… you get the picture.

The subject of a picture leads to our discussion prompt for today, in terms of whether the Cowboys have one that they see clearly and are pushing towards.

Do you feel the Cowboys have a plan now?

No one is suggesting whether or not it is a winning plan, but we are asking whether or not you think that they have one.
