The Cleveland Browns will close out the preseason on Saturday with a home game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Joe Flacco will get the start at quarterback, and an unspecified number of starters and veterans will also see action for about 20 to 25 plays, as the Browns use the game as a warm-up to the season opener on September 7.
Once Flacco takes a seat, the Browns will roll first with rookie Dillon Gabriel and then fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. That is contingent on Sanders not having any setbacks with the oblique injury that sidelined him for last weekend’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, but things are looking good for the home fans to get their first in-person look at Sanders.
Other than getting the starters some reps, getting a first look at wide receiver Isaiah Bond, and finishing their first unbeaten preseason since 2021, Saturday’s game is all about getting through the afternoon without any injuries and then turning the focus to Week 1 and the Cincinnati Bengals.
