Dawgs By Nature
For a pretty boring team on the field and at the NFL trade deadline, the Cleveland Browns know how to keep things interesting. As the midpoint of the season and the Browns bye week passed by, news that chief strategy officer Paul DePodesta was leaving the team to take over the Colorado Rockies came out. It is fair to wonder if he’s just the first to go, saw the writing on the wall or just wanted to return to baseball.
DePodesta’s role had changed this year, even before his departure.
Then there is Week 10 of the NFL season with the New York Jets hosting Cleveland. The Jets went through a version of a teardown that many Browns fans hoped their team would do. Activity is almost always celebrated.
Despite both teams coming off of their bye week, injuries still lingered at Wednesday’s practices. Thursday saw some changes (in bold below), including a concerning one for Cleveland.
Sanders being back to full practice could lead to an interesting decision for HC Kevin Stefanski on Sunday after veteran QB Bailey Zappe was elevated from the practice squad last week in the rookie’s place due to the injury.
Three new injuries added on Thursday mean Friday’s practice report and final injury report will be key pieces of information for Week 10 between Cleveland and New York.
