Dawgs By Nature
The Cleveland Browns head to Cincinnati today to play the Bengals for the last game of their 2025 campaign, and there are a handful of things to keep an eye on.
Cleveland already knows what it has in both Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson going forward, but Sanders hasn’t really been involved in 2025 except for the Buffalo game, when he had 11 carries.
The team absolutely has to figure out what they have in him heading into the offseason. So far, he’s proven to be a decent short-yardage back who can drag defenders for an extra yard or two after contact. Yes, that’s an excellent skillset to have, but Cleveland could want a more well-rounded back to be RB3 in 2026.
It would be great to see Sanders get 10+ carries again today and get targeted a couple of times in the passing game.
Whiteheart has been an underrated player for Cleveland when on the field since joining the team in 2024. Though he’s technically garnered a few starts when the Browns have opened games in 12P packages this season, he’ll have the chance to legitimately operate as the starter today with both Harold Fannin Jr. and David Njoku both out.
Seeing whether or not Whiteheart can be productive as the de facto TE1 today could be crucial to his future with the team.
Green is a former starting OG/C for both Pittsburgh and Houston, giving him a potential leg up heading into 2026.
It’s no secret that Cleveland is lacking in interior offensive line options for the future. With Zak Zinter underwhelming so far, and there being a rotation of practice-squad-level players rotating in and out of the lineup each week behind Bitonio and Teller, things are looking pretty grim there.
Teven Jenkins has been at least “playable” and could be extended for cheap, but besides that, the team needs to find some guys to fill out the room. If Green gets a good amount of reps today at one of the guard spots and performs well, he could definitely figure into the Browns’ plans going forward.
