Browns trade QB to Raiders, get NFL draft pick in return

The Cleveland Browns are not currently projected to keep four quarterbacks anymore after a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. While Browns GM Andrew Berry and HC Kevin Stefanski spoke multiple times about keeping four quarterbacks, most thought it might be a smokescreen of some sort.

Veteran QB Joe Flacco earned the starting job. Rookie quarterbacks Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders both showed flashes of good play, along with some concerning plays indicative of third and fifth-round picks.

Kenny Pickett seemed to be the leader in the clubhouse prior to injuring his hamstring early in training camp.

Instead of keeping all four, Cleveland is sending Pickett to the Raiders:

Pickett was the first quarterback the Browns acquired this offseason in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. Cleveland gave up QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson (since released) and a fifth-round pick to acquire the former first-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In this trade with Las Vegas, the Browns get a fifth-round pick back to balance their Pickett-related (minus DTR) trades this offseason.

What do you think about this trade? Are you shocked the Browns got value for Pickett despite him not playing? Is this a good sign for the rookies?
