Cleveland Browns superstar defensive end Myles Garrett will have to give up some pocket cash after being pulled over for a traffic violation on Saturday.
According to Nick Camino of WKYC, police pulled over Myles Garrett for speeding at 2:01 a.m. on Saturday in Strongsville (a Cleveland suburb). Garrett was issued a citation, reportedly driving 100 MPH in a 60 MPH zone.

Unfortunately, Garrett hasn’t learned his lesson. Back in September 2022, WKYC reported that the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year had been issued at least six speeding tickets since his 2017 rookie year.
News of Myles Garrett’s latest traffic citation comes two months after it was reported that his teammate, rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders, received a pair of speeding tickets in June.
Given the multiple traffic violations on his record, Garrett is fortunate that he only got a citation and didn’t have his car impounded. Presumably, he’s not facing the possibility of a suspended license, either.
Traffic-related violations like speeding are obviously less serious than other off-the-field legal matters, but the Browns will need to have serious discussions with Garrett and Sanders. At the end of the day, nobody benefits from driving violations, and they have to remember their responsibility as licensed drivers to do their part in keeping the roads safe.
Garrett initially requested a trade from the Browns this offseason, but he walked back on it and signed a four-year extension worth $160 million. Before TJ Watt’s extension was signed, Garrett held the record for the richest average annual value (AAV) for a defensive player in NFL history.
Coming off a disappointing 3-14 season, Garrett and the Browns will look to kick off the 2025 season on a high note when they play host to Joe Burrow’s Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 7.
