With the Cleveland Browns’ win against the Las Vegas Raiders, Shedeur Sanders became the first Browns quarterback since 1999 to win his first start. While the win was exciting, there are many takeaways for the team as they make decisions about the quarterback position for the remainder of the 2025 season.
Sanders displayed remarkable confidence and poise while leading the offense. He made a questionable throw on his interception, but he only took one sack in this game. This is an impressive stat considering he was going up against a great talent in Maxx Crosby. Overall, he maintained composure in the pocket and didn’t allow the magnitude of the moment to cause him to make too many poor decisions.
His teammates really rallied around him in this game. Myles Garrett, who recorded three sacks in this matchup, was really impressed with what he saw from Sanders. After the game, during his press conference, he said, “There are not many guys in the league who can make that throw,” referring to Sanders’ beautiful 52-yard pass to Isaiah Bond. It means a lot when the team’s veterans can trust the rookie quarterback on the field and give him the recognition he deserves.
