Browns schedule eases a bit: Star WR injury, star QB calling team out could help

Something interesting about the start of the Cleveland Browns season:

A) Most believed the team would not be good this year
B) Most believed the start to their schedule was brutal

While the schedule hasn’t seen the juggernaut-level teams that were expected, the Browns are not good, at 1-5, and are searching for answers. Especially on the offense, where even the hope of Bill Callahan coming back doesn’t seem like enough to fix anything.

Starting in Week 7, Cleveland’s schedule seems to ease up a little bit with the two worst teams in the AFC East and the New England Patriots up next.

The Miami Dolphins seem ripe for imploding at this point with QB Tua Tagovailoa calling out teammates:

HC Mike McDaniel, who is likely on his own hot seat, then called out his “franchise quarterback” after hearing his comments:

After facing the Dolphins, the surprising Patriots, who lead the AFC East at 4-2, the winless New York Jets are next on the schedule, with both games on the road. The Jets could be without star WR Garrett Wilson for that game:

Wilson is the only Jets pass catcher with over 180 yards gained (395), the only wide receiver with over 100 yards receiving and the only receiver with a receiving touchdown.

The Browns need all the help they can get to turn their ship around. Facing the Dolphins and Jets in two of the next three weeks could be just the elixir… or be the final nail in the coffin for a few coaches and players.
