The Cleveland Browns big move to trade DE Myles Garrett for DE Jared Verse and draft picks wasn’t about the two defenders’ age, but it certainly played a bit of a role. The Browns started their pivot from one of the oldest rosters in the NFL last year, and took an even bigger turn in that direction this offseason.

With mandatory minicamp just around the corner, Cleveland’s roster has just two players over the age of 30:

  • DT Maliek Collins
  • FB Michael Burton

There are just three players, all expected starters on offense, who are currently 30 years old:

  • OT Tytus Howard
  • QB Deshaun Watson
  • OL Elgton Jenkins

Among the 54 players on the Browns 90-man roster who are 25 years old or younger, TE Harold Fannin Jr. and RB Dylan Sampson are among the youngest, still 21 years old despite being drafted in the 2025 NFL draft.

A couple of 2026 NFL draft picks are already 23, including OT Spencer Fano, OT Austin Barber, LB Justin Jefferson, and QB Taylen Green.

CB Denzel Ward, LB Quincy Williams, and P Corey Bojorquez join the older players listed above with eight or more years of experience in the NFL, while there are 27 rookie or first-year players on the current roster.

What do you think about the age range on the Browns 90-man roster? Should the older players be more movable or need to be kept to help teach the younger guys?
