The Cleveland Browns soft reset of the roster is led by the team’s 2025 NFL draft class and the undrafted free agents (UDFAs) that came along following the event. The plan and strategy are “working out” despite the 1-4 record following a frustrating loss in Week 5.
Following the trade of QB Joe Flacco and filling that roster spot, the Browns 53-man roster has 13 players that were added either in the draft or as UDFAs.
The draft class has been superb, with Gabriel’s starting debut getting at least a passing grade. Only Sanders hasn’t had significant time on the field among that seven-person NFL draft group.
Huntington and Bond have had important roles right away, while the others have contributed on special teams.
With 10 picks in 2026, it is likely that Cleveland’s 53-man roster going into next season will have over half of the players on their rookie contracts. If next year’s rookies are even near as good as this year’s, that foundation could carry the Browns for years and years to come.
