Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins suffered a horrific injury against the the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, and seems nearly certain to miss the Browns’ Week 17 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers next week.

Judkins caught a pass from Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the second quarter of the Browns’ game at Huntington Bank Stadium. He was quickly tackled by Buffalo Matt Milano, and got his left leg pinned under his body, twisting his lower leg 90 degrees at the knee.

The injury was so graphic that CBS chose not to replay it in slow motion. Judkins was taken from the field on a cart.

Before his injury on Sunday, Judkins had eight carries for 22 yards and caught five passes for 29 yards. That gives him 813 rushing yards, 171 receiving yards and seven total touchdowns in his rookie season after being selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Ohio State this spring.

With the apparent severity of the injury, and Cleveland already being out of contention for the postseason, it seems unlikely that Judkins will return this season.

Fellow rookie Dylan Sampson is next on the Cleveland depth chart, but he was ruled out of the Week 16 contest with calf and hand injuries. Trayveon Williams and Raheim Sanders are the other Browns running backs, who both helped replace Judkins on Sunday.

Sanders, the Cleveland starting quarterback, was also injured in the game, opening up a cut on his finger that required medical attention, but he was able to return to action.
