The Cleveland Browns have released their updated quarterback depth chart, and it’s bad news for Shedeur Sanders and his rapidly growing fanbase.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns have Joe Flacco as the No. 1 quarterback on their updated depth chart, followed by Kenny Pickett at No 2. Dillon Gabriel holds the third spot, with Shedeur Sanders unexpectedly listed as the fourth QB:

It’s a stunning development, alright, given Sanders’ strong preseason debut against the Carolina Panthers on Friday night. The 23-year-old completed 14 pass attempts for 138 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions while picking up 19 rushing yards.

On Cleveland’s second depth chart of the summer, here is how the Browns are listing their quarterbacks this week:

🏈2. Kenny Pickett
🏈3. Dillon Gabriel
🏈4. Shedeur Sanders

There have been rumors about the Browns trading one of their four quarterbacks ahead of the regular season, and Gabriel’s name has been widely mentioned. But the updated depth chart suggests that the Browns fully intend to keep the Oregon product.

Flacco and Pickett feel like safe bets to stay, given their playing experience over the two rookies. Flacco won 2023 Comeback Player of the Year honors after leading Cleveland to the postseason, but Pickett has the higher upside as a former first-round pick.
