Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Browns fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
With the regular season upon us, we’re ready to start up our regular Reacts questions related to your Cleveland Browns. This week, we have two questions for you to answer, and then we’ll post the results later in the week.
Our first question asks, “How confident are you in the 2025 Browns now compared to earlier in the offseason?” Your choices are “more confident now,” “about the same level of confidence,” and “less confident now.” The question is certainly up to interpretation, depending on what point of the offseason you are taking (i.e. around free agency time, the draft, or training camp). I’m trying to look at the overall picture, and my expectations earlier in the offseason were that, “Even if we aren’t drastically changed as a team, it’s impossible to be as bad as we were last year.” Therefore, my expectations were a bit heightened compared to last year, so “about the same level of confidence” is the right answer for me. I was satisfied with the attempts made to improve the defense, and Joe Flacco being brought in to try to provide stability to the offense again.
The second question asks, “If Joe Flacco went down in Week 1, who should come in relief for him?” Even though the Browns just signed Bailey Zappe to the practice squad, we’re sticking with the two options on the regular season roster: Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders. I think the obvious answer is Gabriel, based on what he showed in his two preseason games. However, it’ll be interesting to see if the poll results show that too, or if he has some hardcore supporters.
