Browns OTAs: Something’s different this year with the offensive line group

Taking a look at how the offensive line as been doing throughout OTAs

The Cleveland Browns are in Week 2 of their 2025 voluntary OTA schedule, and most of the hype and coverage has surrounded the quarterbacks and skilled positions so far.

Though that’s obviously warranted, some interesting things have been happening along the offensive line as well.

Both LG Joel Bitonio and RT Jack Conklin haven’t been at OTAs since they began, so the initial starting offensive line has been:

LT: Dawand Jones
LG: Zak Zinter
C: Ethan Pocic
RG: Wyatt Teller
RT: Cornelius Lucas

The most interesting aspect of this lineup is the fact that Zak Zinter is the fill-in at left guard after spending most of his time on the right as a rookie in 2024.

OT Lorenzo Thompson also got a few snaps as the first-team left tackle but has been the second-team LT for the majority of OTAs. Thompson was signed last season as a UDFA out of Rhode Island, along with Javion Cohen from Miami, who has been the second-team LG in recent practices.

Luke Wypler has been working as the second-team C, and has looked very agile on reach blocks and working to the 2nd level. His biggest question mark has always been strength and power, so it’ll be interesting to continue following him when the pads come on this summer.

Julian Pearl and Jason Ivey have gotten some work as the second-team left and right tackles as well.

Teven Jenkins also practiced yesterday (Wednesday, 6/5) and was the first-team RG for a good portion of 7-on-7 and team drills. It was good to see him in a Cleveland jersey for the first time in 2025.

On a super intriguing note, something feels a bit different this year when it comes to the athleticism and speed of the offensive line in OTAs. There seems to be more urgency and hustle when breaking the huddle, too. Maybe new OL coach Mike Bloomgren is instilling more discipline than Andy Dickerson was early on. Though practices are still unpadded, it’s also easy to see that the offensive linemen have been working on technique.

Coach Bloomgren’s presence is already being felt in OTAs, and that’s more than you could’ve said last season around this time with Andy Dickerson leading the offensive line group.
