Browns Mock Draft: Proposed Myles Garrett trade edition

Browns Mock Draft: Proposed Myles Garrett trade edition
Dawgs By Nature Dawgs By Nature

The Browns prioritize the trenches while coming away with a potential franchise quarterback.

The Cleveland Browns are busy preparing for the NFL Scouting Combine coming up in a little over a week. They are also in the middle of a PR battle with their star pass rusher who has requested a trade from the team.

Publicly, general manager Andrew Berry is saying all the right things and taking an ‘absolutely not’ approach to trading Myles Garrett. I believe that internally, the team will consider offers and pull the trigger on a deal that gives them the required value when all is said and done.

Earlier this week, I proposed a potential trade with the Chicago Bears. You can check out all of the reasoning there, but today, I’d like to conduct a mock draft based on that proposed trade.

Chicago Bears receive:

DE Myles Garrett

CB Greg Newsome

2025 4th-rd pick-103rd overall

2025 6th-rd pick- 181st overall

Cleveland Browns receive:

2025 1st-rd pick - 10th overall

2026 1st-rd pick

2025 2nd-rd pick - 41st overall

OT- Kiran Amegadjie

WR- Tyler Scott

For this mock draft, I will utilize the Mock Draft Database simulator. While I don’t think the Browns will be picking twelve players in this draft, I wanted to demonstrate what the Garrett trade could do as is.

1st Round- (2) DE Abdul Carter

1st Round- (10) OT Will Campbell

2nd Round- (33) QB Jaxson Dart

2nd Round- (41) RB Kaleb Johnson

3rd Round- (67) TE Mason Taylor

3rd Round- (94) LB Barrett Carter

5th Round- (165) QB Riley Leonard

6th Round- (194) C Jake Majors

6th Round- (202) S Jonas Sanker

6th Round- (216) DT Tim Smith

6th Round- (217) K Andres Borregales

7th Round- (257) CB Alijah Huzzie

Overall, in this scenario, the Browns prioritized the trenches by selecting Carter and Campbell as their first two picks. They were relieved when Jaxson Dart, who they could have graded closely to Shedeur Sanders, was still available at the top of the second round.

With pick 41 from the Bears, they were able to get their replacement for Nick Chubb in Johnson, the gifted runner from Iowa.

In the third round, they found a young tight end to pair with David Njoku and added insurance for Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah to the linebacker room by adding another Carter. Finally, Cleveland doubled down on quarterback by selecting Leonard, who is a worthy project to develop as a passer. He can also be a weapon as a running threat in short yardage and high red zone situations immediately.

How would you feel about this draft haul for the Browns? Does it make trading Garrett more palatable? Let us know in the comments below.
