The Cleveland Browns have lost a key piece to their offense for the rest of the 2025 season.

Things continue to get worse for one of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ AFC North rivals. After getting in the win column for the first time this season, the Cleveland Browns will now be without one of their key starters on offense for the rest of year.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed that starting offensive tackle Dawand Jones suffered a season-ending injury in their 13-10 win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

“Dawand Jones, his injury will require surgery, so he’s out for the season, which is disappointing for the young man,” Stefanski said. “He’ll battle back. He’ll rehab and he’ll be ready to roll, but disappointed for him.”

Jones had gone down with a knee injury during the game, and now it seems that will be his final snap this season.

It’s a big blow to Cleveland’s offensive line as Jones hadn’t allowed a sack in 143 offensive snaps played this year, according to Pro Football Focus.

The team also finally showed life in its run game with second-round rookie Quinshon Judkins racking up 94 yards and a touchdown on the ground while averaging 5.2 yards per carry.

The Browns will now have to try to continue doing so without Jones. Veteran Cornelius Lucas looks to be the next man up, barring an outside addition to the room.

Lucas, 34, joined Cleveland on a two-year, $10 million deal this offseason and has plenty of experience, having played with the Washington Commanders (2020-24), Chicago Bears (2019), New Orleans Saints (2018), Los Angeles Rams (2017) and Detroit Lions (2014-16) through the first 11 years of his NFL career.

Jones, a fourth-round pick by the Browns in 2023, has shown promise, but he has struggled to stay healthy. Last season, he had to undergo season-ending surgery to repair a fractured ankle he suffered in Week 11.
