It’s not rare for tensions to boil over between players when two NFL teams get together for a joint practice. However, it seems like the linemen for the Browns and the Eagles are on pretty good terms after Cleveland’s big uglies pounded some beers on the field courtesy of Philadelphia’s Landon Dickerson.
We’re just three weeks away from the start of the 2025 NFL season, and teams around the league are currently working out the kinks and firming up their roster at the training camps they harness to gear up for a new campaign.
Most of those teams opt to join forces with another franchise for a series of joint practices that give players an opportunity to face off against some outside competition after previously relying on their teammates to prepare for what’s in store, and there’s plenty of potential for tempers to flare when they meet.
That was the case when the Browns and the Eagles practiced together in Philadelphia on Wednesday during a session where some players had to be separated after a special teams snap, but there doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between the guys in the trenches based on a moment we were treated to on Thursday.
Eagles offensive lineman Landon Dickerson will have to wait longer than anticipated to kick off his fifth season with the team that drafted him in the second round in 2021, as he underwent surgery on Wednesday after tearing the meniscus in his right knee while practicing last weekend.
He was subsequently unable to take part in the series of joint practices being held as the Browns and Eagles prepare for their preseason showdown on Saturday, but he made an appearance on Thursday while hooking up Cleveland’s offensive line with a cooler filled with the cans of Miller Lite they happily cracked open after wrapping up their morning session.
