Former Cleveland Browns legend Bernie Kosar is back at University Hospital in Cleveland. He recently had a liver transplant and remained hospitalized for about a week after his surgery, then was sent home. Kosar’s story has been covered nationally as his health issues have been pressing for a few months.

Kosar’s 12-year NFL career came after a stellar college stint as a Miami Hurricane. Kosar and his family forced their way to the Browns through the Supplemental NFL draft process. In nine years in Cleveland, Kosar threw for just under 22,000 yards with 116 touchdowns.

Kosar sent out an Instagram message Sunday morning, sitting next to a hospital bed.

“Game day, good morning. Trying to stay positive, but obviously a little bump. Let’s have a winning day. You matter. Go Browns!”

The phrase “you matter” has always been a Kosar mantra that he uses.

It is not certain why Kosar is back in the hospital, but we will keep Browns fans up to date as information becomes available.
