Longtime Cleveland Browns Insider Mary Kay Cabot revealed eye-opening information on what Browns players thought of former teammate Myles Garrett. To say the least, teammates did not view Garrett as an exceptional leader.

“When you talk about the fact that [fans] haven’t seen guys write or say a lot about Myles, I think that there are some reasons for that,” Cabot stated on the Orange and Brown Talk: Cleveland Browns Podcast. “If you look back to the previous year when he went all around the Super Bowl asking to get the heck out of Dodge, I don’t think that necessarily said ‘team building’ to a lot of guys. I’ve also been told that even though Myles was very well-respected and, in some cases, revered, he wasn’t necessarily loved by his teammates. He didn’t inspire that warm and fuzzy, big, booming kind of love that some people have for their teammates.”

Garrett was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in a blockbuster trade earlier this month. Garrett’s relationship with the organization was rocky over the last year.

Jim Schwartz resigning as the Browns’ defensive coordinator after being passed on for the head coach position was the tipping point.

Following the reports of Schwartz wanting out, Garrett posted a simple message on Instagram, hinting that he’s tired of the mismanagement by the Browns’ front office.

Garrett will now get the chance to finally play for a Super Bowl contender in the Rams, which he’s been coveting.

“Speaking with the management of the Browns, at this current time, I don’t feel like our future is aligned with winning right now,” Garrett said in February of 2025. “That’s what I’m looking forward to doing at this stage of my career. I have a lot of love for northeast Ohio and a community that brought me into the league. But I want to get to contending and winning playoff games and be in games like today.”

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Garrett has racked up 412 tackles, 125.5 sacks, 23 forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries and 18 passes defended in his professional career.

Against the Pittsburgh Steelers, he has recorded 13 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, 26 QB hits and four forced fumbles.
