At this point, given their questionable decision-making and process — especially regarding Deshaun Watson, who once faced more than 20 allegations of sexual misconduct in what the NFL later deemed “predatory behavior” — it’s hard to trust the Cleveland Browns when they evaluate players. This moribund franchise and its front office leaders have lost the benefit of the doubt all around. Just ask the frustrated Myles Garrett.
I kind of think that’s what makes Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry’s evaluation of superstar NFL draft prospect Travis Hunter so critical. Whatever Berry and the Browns believe about the generational, dual-position talent, everyone else in the league should definitely follow the opposite.
As a debate rages about whether Hunter should play on offense or defense at the next level, Berry said the Browns believe Hunter is a “receiver primarily first” at Tuesday’s NFL combine press conference.
Welp. OK. The case is closed. If the Browns really think this, then Hunter should assuredly focus on becoming a professional shutdown cornerback.
Good talk, everyone!

I’m glad the Browns could help nip this Hunter conversation in the bud before it became incessant in the early spring. Who says they can’t do anything right? Oh, yeah. I say that.
