The Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins face off in what many believe will be an ugly game on the shores of Lake Erie in Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season. The 1-5 Browns vs the 1-5 Dolphins could be a loser-leaves-town matchup between HC Kevin Stefanski and HC Mike McDaniel.
Miami going on the road, and QB Tua Tagovailoa calling his team out, has Cleveland sitting as a 2.5 point favorite for this week’s game. To open the week, the game had a total of just under 40 points (39.5). With the Dolphins scoring 21 or more points in five of their six games, that line was a strong indicator of what is expected of the Browns offense (and a little their defense) in Week 7.
Now, that total has dropped a full three points (a significant number with such a low total). No other game this week is below 40.5.
The reason for the drop? Likely, weather, specifically wind gusts:
There is obviously a large difference between the 36 mph forecast and the potential for 60 mph winds, but with two quarterbacks that lack strong arms, those are big numbers.
We will continue to monitor the forecast to see if updates are warranted heading into Sunday’s matchup between two 1-5 teams.
