The NFL playoffs kick off on Saturday, but the NFL head coaching carousel also continues to spin at the same time. In many ways, the league is split right now between teams in the postseason, teams with head coaching vacancies, and those just regrouping for next year.

The Cleveland Browns have added another defensive coach to their interview request list and have completed four interviews so far, all virtual, based on the NFL’s rules:

John Harbaugh’s name lingers, with a big price tag and his own timeline for interviews. Head coaches on current playoff teams could be added to the list of available candidates, and more competition for the top options for the Browns.

On Saturday, the team announced that they were completing their interview with OC Todd Monken:

Monken is in his 37th year of coaching with a strong mix of college and NFL experience, including one year as the Browns offensive coordinator in 2019 in Freddie Kitchens’ lone year as the team’s head coach. Monken spent the next three seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Georgia Bulldogs, including two National Championships, before returning to the NFL as Lamar Jackson’s coordinator with the Ravens.

As a head coach, Monken coached Southern Miss to a 13-25 record.
