There is one last huge step in the ramp up to the 2025 NFL season. Long gone are the big waves of NFL free agency and the NFL draft, now we step into the initial 53-man roster process for the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the league. A second step comes with the waiver process over the next few days.
The Browns got a jump on moves Sunday with 21 players being let go. Chris Pokorny has been the king of trackers for a long time here at Dawgs By Nature. Long before everyone was tracking UDFAs, Chris was there. Well before most people were updating cuts as they happened, Chris was there.
Chris also always gives the official DBN initial 53-man roster prediction, but this year, we wanted to give you more, so you can find all of our 53-man roster predictions in this “Stream” on the site.
Quarterback (4)
Running Back (3)
Tight End (3)
Wide Receiver (6)
Offensive Line (10)
Barton might be a surprise on the offensive line, however, there have been so many injuries to the offensive line that I think depth is important for that group.
Defensive End (5)
Defensive Tackle (5)
Linebacker (5)
Cornerback (5)
I kept 5 cornerbacks, but I do expect that they will be looking on the market for some depth there.
Safety (4)
Special Teams (3)
I am concerned about Dustin Hopkins and think that Szmyt did enough in the final preseason game to make the roster over him.
What do you think of Abby’s 53-man roster projection?
