The other day, we looked at the win total odds for the Cleveland Browns. When you think of the Browns, though, it might be hard to envision there being a middle ground for them: meaning I could see them surprising teams and returning to the form of a playoff contender like they were in 2023, or I could see them spiraling downhill again like last year as a bad team. Instead of projecting specific win total, maybe taking the odds of whether Cleveland will or won’t be a playoff team is more compelling.
Looking at the playoff odds currently being provided by FanDuel Sportsbook, they clearly are projecting the Browns to be the worst team in football. That means if you want to roll the dice on them to exceed expectations — even if you don’t want to go as far as making a Super Bowl bet — then it’s a great time to make your bet.
If you want to gamble on the Browns making the playoffs, then a $100 bet would earn you a profit of $880. Cleveland has the worst odds to make the playoffs in the NFL, with the Saints (+820), Giants (+710), and Jets (+490) being the next closest. While it may suck that the Browns are perceived that way, it should certainly be enticing for fans who believe this team can turn things around.
On the flip side, you could bet on the Browns to miss the playoffs at -1800. While some may find that to be easy money, the risk isn’t worth the reward. A bet of $100 would only see a small profit of $5.56.
