Brown coaching woes: Bubba Ventrone needs to go after Week 10 loss to Jets

Kevin Stefanski recently gave up offensive playcalling duties to Tommy Rees in an attempt to solve some of the struggles the Cleveland Browns have been having on the offensive side of the ball this season. After the Browns’ 27-20 loss to the New York Jets, the team may also have to take a look at making some changes with Special Teams Coach Bubba Ventrone.

In the first ten minutes of this game, the Jets managed to score on both a 99-yard kick return and a 74-yard punt return. Ultimately, game-changing errors like that fall on the special teams coach. Special teams errors have plagued the Browns since Ventrone arrived in Cleveland. The responsibility falls on him to clean these issues up and have the guys ready to play.

This was a very winnable game for the Browns, and given the fact that they put 20 points on the board and only lost by seven points, they would’ve won this game had it not been for the special teams errors. A loss is never one person’s fault, but when there are issues that are consistently showing up week after week, changes need to be made.
