Jaguars fans, who are you picking in tonight’s game between the Broncos and Chargers?
Thursday Night Football kicks off tonight at 8:15 p.m. EST as the 8-6 Los Angeles Chargers host the 9-5 Denver Broncos at SoFi Stadium.
The Chargers are 2.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, and the total is 41.5 points.
I like the Broncos to cover and win outright. Even with Riley Moss out and Pat Surtain II banged up, and Justin Herbert on the opposite sideline, I trust Denver’s defense against an L.A. offense that’s lacked explosiveness all season.
According to Twitter/X user @Clevta, the Chargers rank dead last with 8.4 average yards-to-go on third downs over the past three weeks. Meanwhile, the Broncos rank first in early down defense (by both EPA per play and success rate) on the season.
Herbert is dealing with an ankle injury. His top target, Ladd McConkey, has multiple nagging injuries. Running back J.K. Dobbins is on injured reserve. Again, the Broncos aren’t fully healthier either, but they’ve shown the ability to overcome that in recent weeks, and the Chargers have not.
