Payton is looking to win 13 or more games in the regular season for the fifth time, which would tie him with Belichick.
Denver currently has 12 wins and needed to defeat the Jaguars to secure Payton’s 13th victory. However, he still has two more games to make it happen.
The Broncos will travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs on Christmas Day, followed by a home matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 18.
The Chargers are a playoff team and have a strong chance of defeating Denver. Meanwhile, the Chiefs are struggling since their star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, is out for the season with a torn ACL.
Payton will likely lead the Broncos to secure one more victory this season, tying him with Belichick’s record.
