Brandon Jones joined the Broncos last year and had the best season of his career. He’s looking to take another step forward in 2025.
After releasing Justin Simmons, the Denver Broncos desperately needed safety help last season. They signed Brandon Jones to help shore up things in the defensive backfield. It was arguably the best move they made in free agency.
Jones came to the Broncos as a player with promising potential, but never realized it due to injury troubles with the Miami Dolphins. With the Broncos, Jones has had the benefit of the best strength and conditioning unit in the NFL. The results speak for themselves: 115 tackles, 10 pass defenses, 3 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, and 2 tackles for loss.

Brandon Jones is such a versatile safety, which makes him perfect in the Vance Joseph defense. He’s got superb coverage skills, either dropping deep as a cover-2 safety or manning up with a receiver to take away one of the routes in the middle of the field.
He’s also an able downhill tackler out of the backfield and really wowed us last season with his ability to lay the wood from the strong safety position.
With his mix of skills, he’s the type of player that every NFL defense wants at safety in the modern game.
Brandon Jones was a blue-chip player last season in our secondary, and I see him the same going into 2025. He’s a key part of this defense and is only going to be better with the defensive additions of Talanoa Hufanga and Dre Greenlaw, which seal up key holes in this defensive roster. Jones is a playmaker. He had to do a whole lot of covering up blemishes on the defense last season, and will be even more dangerous in the defensive backfield this year.
