The Denver Broncos have reportedly brought in Marwan Maalouf to be their assistant special teams coach.
The Denver Broncos are slowly rounding out their coaching staff. According to Mike Klis of 9News, Special Teams Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach, Darren Rizzi, has added a new assistant special teams coach in Marwan Maalouf. Maalouf coached with Rizzi from 2013-2018 with the Miami Dolphins, however, Maalouf has not coached in the NFL since 2020.
The long break from coaching should be a bit of a concern, but as an assistant he’ll be eased back into things I am sure. As Klis noted in the X post above, Rizzi had hoped to bring over Phil Galiano from the New Orleans Saints but the team promoted him to keep him from leaving.
The long hiatus from the NFL for Maalouf could also be a blessing and given him some perspective to bring back to another stint in the league.
