Broncos place Nick Gargiulo on IR after devastating injury versus Cardinals
Mile High Report Mile High Report

Earlier today, Denver Broncos insider Mike Klis reported the Broncos had signed fullback Adam Prentice. In order to make room for Prentice, a corresponding roster move had to be made. According to Zac Stevens of DNVR, offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo has been placed on injured reserve. That news was confirmed by Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette.

After an impressive camp and preseason performance against the San Francisco 49ers, things were looking up for the second-year pro. Unfortunately, a right leg injury suffered in the second half of yesterday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals resulted in him being carted off the field. While the official extent and details of his injury have not entirely been revealed, this designation likely this brings an end to his sophomore season.

Gargiulo was a seventh-round draft pick for the Broncos in 2024. While he did not make the team’s 53-man roster last season, he spent the entire year on the practice squad. This year, he was in the midst of a fierce competition for one of the backup spots along the offensive line. I thought he was building a strong case to be one of the team’s backup interior offensive lineman capable of playing multiple positions.

Prayers up and best wishes to Gargiulo as he begins recovering from this devastating injury.
