The Denver Broncos announced earlier today that they have opened center Luke Wattenberg’s 21-day practice window. He returned to practice today, and if all goes well, he could be activated off the injured reserve and back into the lineup this Sunday for the AFC Championship Game vs. the Patriots.

Wattenberg has been sidelined for the past four weeks and three games due to a shoulder injury, and backup center Alex Forsyth started in his place. They also signed veteran center Sam Mustipher off the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad and added him to their 53-man roster. If Forsyth is healthy, look for Mustipher to be released to make room for Wattenberg on the active roster.

Earlier this season, the Broncos signed center Luke Wattenberg to a four-year, $48 millon dollar contract, and he has developed into a key piece of the team’s top-ranked offensive line. With the Patriots having defensive tackle Milton Williams in the middle of their defense, getting back Wattenberg should help quarterback Jarrett Stidham stay clean this Sunday.

Wattenberg joins veteran running back JK Dobbins as players the Broncos could be getting back for Sunday’s AFC Championship Game. With quarterback Bo Nix out with a broken ankle, these two would help make life easier for Jarrett Stidham. Both just need to make it through the week without any setbacks and prove to the Broncos trainers and medical team that they are good to go.

The Broncos are just one game away from advancing to the Super Bowl, and it is all hands on deck. If you are close to 100%, it is time to leave it all on the line to help the team advance and have a shot at winning the Lombardi Trophy.
