Broncos get boost by return of Bo Nix

Good morning, Broncos Country!

The return of Bo Nix is obviously the hot topic around these parts.

While he hasn’t practiced fully yet, he was back on the field for minicamp. And Nix being back from his broken ankle is massive, for obvious reasons.

The next step for Nix and the Broncos is training camp in just a few weeks. But before that, the Broncos website got with receiver Troy Franklin for an interview.

Since the two will enter their fifth consecutive season playing together, Franklin knows Nix better than just about anyone.

As Frankin said to the Broncos website about Nix being back on the field for minicamp:

“That was great for the team, man. I think it brought everybody up to see Bo back there, taking his drop and throwing some passes. Just getting back out there and taking command of everything.

“(It was great) just being back on that field with Bo.”

Franklin will also look to take the next step or two in his career as he enters his third year in the NFL. The addition of Jaylen Waddle makes the receiving room undoubtedly better, but it also pushes Franklin down the depth chart.

Still, Franklin was a reliable target for Nix. As the team website said, Franklin recorded the second-most receptions on the team. He hauled in 65 passes for 709 yards and six touchdowns, with nearly half of his receptions resulting in first downs.

“Just working on my game all around,” Franklin said to the Broncos website about his goals for Year 3. “Going out there and being more consistent, making plays.”
