Broncos Country fears playing Buffalo the most in the playoffs
Mile High Report Mile High Report

We asked you which Wild Card team worried you the most as the Broncos’ opponent in the divisional round, and nearly half said the Buffalo Bills. So that means rooting for the Jaguars over the Bills on Saturday, an outcome I personally believe will most certainly happen.

The playoff team the second biggest chunk of Broncos fans fear is the Texans. This is my camp. Of the four teams Denver could face, I worry the most about the Texans defense against our very inconsistent offense.

Not too many fans — just 16% — are worried about our own AFC West foe, the Chargers, and almost no one — just 2% — is too worried about playing the Steelers. And I dare say many of us would prefer Pittsburgh over any of the AFC choices, probably assuming that it is much better to face an aging Aaron Rogers than Josh Allen or CJ Stroud or Justin Herbert.

Good assumption.

Here’s how the playoff scenarios could play out.

IF…

(7) Chargers beat the Patriots, they will be the lowest seed and earn themselves a second trip to Mile High in two weeks.

(6) Bills defeat the Jags, then the Broncos will have a chance to avenge last year’s wild card loss to the Bills.

(5) Texans beat the (4) Steelers and both the Chargers and Bills lose, then Denver gets the AFC South runner-up. But if the Steelers somehow beat the Texans, and the Chargers and Bills lose, the Broncos might end up with the least-threatening team in the playoffs.

The fact that the Broncos are sitting at home this weekend resting to prepare for the divisional round rather than clearing out their lockers means this team is definitely heading in the right direction.

Somehow, 5% in Broncos Country don’t agree with this.
