Broncos could be on the verge of a lengthy win streak
Mile High Report Mile High Report

After the Broncos defeated the Eagles last Sunday and improved to 3-2, they have moved past the difficult start to their schedule and into a favorable stretch on paper. Now, anything can and will happen on Sundays, but these are winnable games for the Broncos.

They play the 0-5 Jets this Sunday morning in London. This could be a trap game, but the Broncos SHOULD be able to take care of business against a bad team. These are games they have not had issues with in the past under Sean Payton, and I don’t believe that will be the case this Sunday. The following week, you host the New York Giants, who just upset the Eagles. Another game they should dominate at home and take advantage of a young, inexperienced, and beat-up Giants roster.

After you get done with the New York teams, you host the Cowboys, travel to Houston, and then host the lowly Raiders. The Broncos should be no worse than 7-3 before their first matchup vs. the Chiefs, before their bye week.

If the Broncos want to win the AFC West and be a top seed in the playoffs, they need to take care of business during this stretch. The teams they are competing with for the division, the Chargers and Chiefs, have some difficult games coming up. The Chargers head east to take on the Dolphins, host the Colts and Vikings, play the Titans, and then play the Steelers and Jaguars. Meanwhile, the Chiefs, who sit at 2-3 currently, host the Lions this week, followed by the Raiders and Commanders, before playing the Bills and Broncos on the road. After that, they play the Colts, Cowboys, Texans, and Chargers. So, the Chiefs, who have had a rough start to the year, do not have many “easy wins” on their schedule coming up.

My point is, the Broncos could pull away a bit in the division if they win these winnable games. Give yourself some room for error, and hell, go push for the number one seed. For now, though, take it one game at a time and take care of business in London vs. the Jets.
