A kickoff penalty by the Indianapolis Colts gave the Denver Broncos the ball at their own 40 yard lint to start the second half.

An inside hand-off to JK Dobbins gained five yards, then a quick toss outside to Marvin Mims Jr. brought up a third and four. Bo Nix, from the shotgun, took off running when a lane opened up in the pocket for an 18 yard gain.

After a quick toss to Courtland Sutton for six, Nix hit RJ Harvey over the middle for a 16-yard gain into the red zone. Another quick toss outside, this time to Troy Franklin, gained nine yards to the five yard line. JK Dobbins would then power his way into the end zone for a five-yard touchdown run.

Broncos 28, Colts 20.

The Colts offense clearly found the weakness to exploit against the Broncos defense. They attacked the inside linebacker spots pretty hard in this game. Daniel Jones and that offense marched down the field and even attacked Pat Surtain in coverage. Jones just didn’t care, because he was dealing.

The defense finally got some breaks. The first was a holding call on a 2nd and 1 inside the five yard line. Then after that, Justin Strnad flew through the line to sack Daniel Jones for another big loss. On third and 21, Jones handed it off inside to play for the field goal.

Denver was on the verge of answering that with a three-and-out facing a third and 15, but Tyler Badie took a screen pass and made a huge play to gain 17 yards and a first down across midfield.

They wouldn’t do anything from there, unfortunately, as three plays later the pass to Evan Engram was a little off target and Denver would punt it away.

The third quarter would end with the Colts putting together a drive that started from inside their own 10. They converted their first third down on a pass to Tyler Warren who was being covered by Pat Surtain.
