A pair of AFC West playoff hopefuls battles it out in Los Angeles
The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers get Week 16 of NFL action started on Thursday Night Football on Prime. It’s a classic AFC West showdown, with both teams clinging to playoff spots at the back half of postseason seeding.
The 9-5 Broncos off a bit of that “surprise team” this season with rookie quarterback Bo Nix finding his rhythm in the second half of the year. As for the Chargers, their 8-6 record would have them in the tournament if the playoffs began today. But they can ill-afford another loss if they hope to make a run at things come January.
The oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook have the Chargers as 2.5-point favorites (-2.5) entering tonight’s game, but this may prove a difficult line to trust. It’s anyone’s game tonight in LA, but I see things going the Chargers way only because Thursday games tend to favor home teams.
Los Angeles Chargers 27, Denver Broncos 24
Here’s your open thread for tonight’s game. As always, be kind to one another — and in all things... Go Bills!
