Mile High Report
According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos are expected to sign former Las Vegas Raiders running back Sincere McCormick to their practice squad.
McCormick was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders at the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Draft. He would be with the team through the 2024 season and would spend time with the 49ers and Cardinals this season before signing to the Broncos’ practice squad.
He is a 5-9, 205-pound running back who has been productive in limited action throughout his short NFL career. Last season for the Raiders, McCormick played in 5 games, including 2 starts, and totaled 39 carries for 183 yards while averaging a solid 4.7 yards per carry. He has also added 6 receptions on 7 targets for an additional 29 yards. McCormick received double-digit carries twice last season, and totaled 12 carries for 64 yards vs. the Chiefs and 15 carries for 78 yards vs. the Bucs. He had 5 carries against the Broncos back in week 11 of last season and totaled 33 yards.
While McCormick has seen very limited action, he did hold his own against the Broncos, Bucs, and Chiefs last season and should add some productive depth to their team moving forward. With JK Dobbins sidelined, RJ Harvey has been starting for the Broncos and is coming off his best overall game of his career as a runner vs. the Raiders. Behind him, we have seen a mix of Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie, but neither has produced much thus far. They also have Deuce Vaughn on their practice squad, but he has yet to be elevated to the gameday roster this season. So, McCormick has a potential avenue to playing time if he can get up to speed quickly with the Broncos and could help them out during their final 4 games of the season and into the postseason.
Over the past week, the Broncos have added wide receiver Elijah Moore and now running back Sincere McCormick to their practice squad. It’ll be interesting to see if Head Coach Sean Payton and the Broncos can turn these players into late-season contributors who help them make a deep postseason run come January and hopefully, into February.
