Broncos 20 Titans 12 quick recap
Music City Miracles Music City Miracles

It is hard to lose a game when you are +2 in turnover margin, but that is exactly what the Tennessee Titans did today. We knew it was going to be a tough test to go on the road and take on this Denver Broncos defense. The revamped offensive line for the Titans struggled quite a bit, allowing Cam Ward to be sacked six times in his NFL debut.

Brian Callahan had a pretty brutal day. The playcalling on the drive right before halftime was inexcusable. The Titans got the ball on their own seven-yard line with 47 seconds left to go, leading 6-3. Denver still had two timeouts. Instead of calling at least one run and forcing the Broncos to use at least one of their timeouts, Callahan called three straight pass plays. The third one nearly resulted in a safety.

The smart move there with a rookie quarterback in his first start on the road would have been to run it three straight times and head into halftime with the lead. Instead, the Titans end up punting the ball back to the Broncos. It took the Broncos two plays to get a touchdown.

Cam Ward played better than his numbers indicate. Calvin Ridley dropped three passes, including one on the final drive that could have set the Titans up to have a real chance to try and win the game. Ward finished the game 12 of 28 for 112 yards. He did not throw a touchdown or an interception, but did lose a fumble on the final drive.

Much more to come on this game later.
