Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Broderick Jones explains what sets quarterback Aaron Rodgers apart from the rest.

PITTSBURGH – A few short days after the Pittsburgh Steelers inked Aaron Rodgers to a one-year deal, he joined the team for mandatory minicamp. And the 21-year veteran, who is now the oldest active player in the league, has already made his mark on some of the Steelers young players, like left tackle Broderick Jones.

When asked what it’s like to have the four-time NFL MVP around, Jones immediately identified what has stood out.

“Just how collected he is,” Jones said of Rodgers’ presence on the team. “He’s been doing it for so long … [He] has that swagger … He’s coming in ready to work.”

Last season, the Steelers acquired another former Super Bowl champion quarterback: now-departed Russell Wilson.

Jones is still in awe that he’s had the opportunity to play with both quarterbacks to start his NFL career.

“I never thought I’d be playing for those quarterbacks,” Jones said. “I watched them growing up, you know? So it’s like playing with them right now … it’s just crazy to me, man.”

In his rookie season, Jones blocked for quarterbacks Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, and now-returned Mason Rudolph. Now, Jones will be playing with a second future Hall of Fame signal caller.

“I was just thinking about that last night,” Jones said when asked about Rodgers joining the team. “We really got Aaron Rodgers.”

Though the former Packer legend joined the offseason program later than most of his teammates, Jones didn’t sound worried about it.

When asked about adjusting with Rodgers, he said, “We will figure that out during camp.”

Luckily, the Steelers still have plenty of time to adjust with Rodgers. Minicamp has one more day of work and then players report to St. Vincent College on July 23rd.
