The Jaguars wrapped up an odd 2024 season with Sunday’s overtime 26-23 loss to the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The Jacksonville Jaguars gave fans a little extra football in Sunday’s overtime matchup with the Indianapolis Colts with Cam Little having a busy final day of the 2024 regular season. However, the performance would again come up short in another one-score loss for the 2024 Jaguars, losing 26-23 in Indianapolis. The team will end 2024 going 3-10 in one score games. Jacksonville falls to 4-13 on the season, cementing a third place 2025 schedule and placing third in the AFC South standings. The team is projected to draft fifth in the 2025 NFL Draft currently. Game Recap:

As a reminder, Jacksonville entered the matchup with QB Trevor Lawrence, TE Evan Engram, WR Christian Kirk, and WR Gabe Davis all on injured reserve. Additionally, LB Ventrell Miller (ankle), LT Walker Little (ankle) were held out with injury with DE Josh Hines-Allen being inactive due to personal reasons. S Andre Cisco sustained a groin injury during warmups and did not participate. Meanwhile, Indianapolis was without QB Anthony Richardson for the matchup.

1st Quarter

The Indianapolis offense opened the game on fire, moving 70-yards in just three plays to open the game with a 40-yard Alex Pierce touchdown. Joe Flacco found a wide-open Alex Ogletree on the opening play for 21-yards, then followed up with a 9-yard Michael Pittman grab before Montaric Brown was beat by Pierce deep for the deep touchdown. Not to be outdone, the Jaguars’ offense would put together their own 70-yard touchdown drive, primarily working on the ground with Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby, before Tank would close out the drive with a one-yard rush to tie the game back at 7-7.

After giving up an early catch to Josh Downs, the defense would sack Joe Flacco and force a third down incompletion to force the punt. Jacksonville’s offense would give the ball right back to the Colts. However, the Jacksonville defense would then stop Indianapolis on four straight downs to get the ball back at mid-field with Jarrian Jones coming up with the fourth down stop right at the marker.

2nd Quarter

Unfortunately, the offense was unable to capitalize, moving only 13-yards before Cam Little would make the 53-yard field goal to take the lead. The kick moved Little into second place in franchise history in field goals made by a rookie (25), passing Josh Scobee (24). (Jaguars 10, Colts 7)

The Colts then put together a second 70-yard drive, this one an 8-play, 4:45 touchdown drive with chunk gains of 8, 9, 7, 17, and 9-yards before Jonathan Taylor’s 6-yard touchdown rush to re-gain the lead. (Jaguars 10, Colts 14)
