Charlsong1: What does it take for XL to be definitively declared worthy of being a first round pick?

Right now, I’d say he’s WR4. AT and Coker outplayed him last year, and TMac is the real deal IMO.

But XL is gonna get better, and I think AT is playing his final season. If XL averages 875-1000 yards a season over the next three, does that make it a good move to trade up for him?

I don’t know if Xavier Legette will ever be considered worthy of a first round selection, but to live up to his 32nd overall billing, a strong WR2 career would probably be sufficient. If he can manage like 1500 receiving yards and 7-10 TDs in the two seasons before year 4, I’d say the Panthers are doing alright all things considered.

For my taste, filling that outside WR2 role opposite Tetairoa McMillan sufficiently with solid production would be enough just based on the other talents he’s going to have around him. But if he can get close to 1k yards a season towards the latter half of the rookie contract, I wouldn’t even think about the trade up to acquire him for quite some time.

1. What content are you consuming or stats are you analyzing to keep you up to date on Panthers and NFL? Are you an SB Nation company man? Do you visit all the teams or just our division? Walk us through what it is like to be you as far as being a Cat Scratch Reader employee or a Panthers fan and where does that Venn diagram cross over and diverge?

2. Hypothetical Start Up. Not sure what this company does exactly but it is NFL adjacent. So we need folks with NFL smarts, but also folks who will help get a starp up off the ground and running and be good innovative leaders and sales folks and ...entrepenuers. You can hire 7 former Panthers. Who are they and why will they help us make a profit? You can also mention some Panthers who were great on the field that you wouldn’t hire if you’ve got some good interesting reasons.

  1. I think like many things out there, consuming information from a wide range of resources is the best way to go. I’ve always notoriously been skeptical of...
