Hello CSR! Welcome to Brian Answers, part two of your weekly Panthers fan mailbag for everyone! We’re getting through the slow part of the offseason, but you all keep the discussions going regardless, and I love it. Let’s dive right in!
Coach_K: I’m assuming it won’t happen, but any chance we keep the grass (from World Cup) into the season? It looked pretty lush last wknd, like fresh vacuum lines of a new rug
I highly doubt it. The Panthers stadium is used for more than just football, so the turf is probably here to stay. Would love to be wrong though!
schrodingersblackcat: The Rams are an organization I respect from a distance, but they also confuse the heck out of me. What do you make of their decision to draft Simpson at pick 13 (at the expense of the 2026 squad missing out on drafting a difference maker somewhere else on the field), and then following that up by trading away valuable draft picks (at the expense of their post-Stafford future) for Myles Garrett and effectively signalling it’s SB or bust?
One last question. Do you give much credence to the chatter that McVay will exit LA with Stafford?
I think they need an exit plan with Matthew Stafford once he decides to hang it up, which like with Aaron Rodgers, you don’t necessarily know for certain WHEN that will happen. The Rams don’t value draft picks, they’ve said as much, so I actually kind of liked them taking a dart throw for their future so there’s a contingency plan in place whenever Stafford does retire. Dcangio09 also had a solid answer, and it is possible they already knew they were going after Myles Garrett, so they invested SOMETHING in their future. Still an interesting organization to watch, but at the moment they appear to be Super Bowl favorites. I don’t expect Sean McVay to walk with Stafford when he decides to retire though, but its going to be an interesting rebuilding process when it happens.
Revshawn: Sweet potatoes are the best vegetable in existence. The original was so good that the Creator patched it to be even better. Sweet potatoes are the best. Am I right or am I right?
Never been the biggest fan of sweet potatoes. There are many things that I’ve come to appreciate as I get older, but sweet potatoes are not one of them. If I wanted my potatoes to be sweet I’d just get dessert. Don’t @ me.
WanderingJanusz: Canes in how many?
I admittedly don’t watch a ton of hockey, but I think the Canes will take it in 6. They obviously didn’t start off right with a loss in game 1. But I have faith, and it’ll likely end up seeping the Panthers chances of another playoff berth. The world doesn’t allow us to have too many nice things. Just look at Philly a few years ago when all of their sports franchises made the big dance, and all failed....
