Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre strongly indicated that Netflix went after him with their “Untold: The Fall of Favre” documentary because of his support for President Donald Trump.

Earlier this week, Netflix released its highly anticipated documentary on the controversial Pro Football Hall of Famer. The documentary detailed Favre’s rise to fame and power, as well as his many off-the-field incidents and involvement in the Mississippi welfare funds scandal.

The documentary featured interviews with former New York Jets reporter Jenn Sterger (the victim of Favre’s sexting and harassment) and several other notable Wisconsin-based sports personalities who shared the disturbing stories and tales about Brett Favre’s life off the football field.

Favre seems to believe that Netflix only released the documentary because of his vocal support for Trump. If you go to his X/Twitter account, you’ll see that Favre “reposted” the following two tweets:

Haven’t you ever noticed that these “scandals” seem to pop up (or again) every single time a famous individual vocally supports President Trump?

The Brett Favre documentary focused on the “Never meet your heroes” philosophy. Some interviewed also emphasized that despite Favre’s many controversies and involvement in the Mississippi welfare funds scandal, there’s an army of fans who will overlook that simply because he was a great football player.

Brett Favre Has A Complicated Legacy

When you look at most of the all-time great quarterbacks (Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Roger Staubach, Dan Marino, Terry Bradshaw, Steve Young, Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr, Troy Aikman etc.), you won’t find them involved in any controversies or incidents as serious as Favre.

Favre was the face of the NFL in the second half of the ’90s decade, and as the documentary pointed out, some folks just want to focus on the football player. But it’s hard to just look away from Favre’s inappropriate and cowardly acts, namely the sexting and involvement in the Mississippi state scandal.
