The Steelers QB is going to try and go out on a high note
The Pittsburgh Steelers signed four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers ahead of mandatory mini-camp, all but finalizing the meat and potatoes of their roster.
The contract is a one-year deal. And appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers was asked if 2025 would be his final season, which he confirmed.
“I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers said. “And that’s why we did the one-year deal. The Steelers didn’t need to put any extra years on it. This was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I’ve had. I’ve played 20 frickin years. It’s been a long run and I’ve enjoyed it. What better place to finish than with one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL there’s with Mike Tomlin and a great group of leadership and great guys in a city that expects you to win.”
Will Rodgers be able to go out like John Elway with a Super Bowl? That’s certainly his hope, as well as the hope of the Steelers. Time will tell how the final chapter of Aaron Rodgers’ NFL career will be written.
