As Brandon Aiyuk has been linked to the Washington Commanders due to his own actions, like recently cheering them on in a social media post, another development has added fuel to the fire. While the talk around Aiyuk and the Commanders will continue, the latest post from the wide receiver will no doubt cause more speculation.
Posting to his Instagram story, Aiyuk would post a picture of former Washington quarterback Mark Rypien, as he’s holding up the Super Bowl Trophy that was won in 1992, via Josh Taylor.
“Brandon Aiyuk’s latest IG story is a picture of Mark Rypien after the Redskins won the Super Bowl in 1992 with #StickTalk,” Taylor wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver seems to be on his wau out, especially with how the relationship between the team and star has gone sour. Besides the photo mentioned earlier, a Father’s Day post would have the football world buzzing when he chanted “Go Commanders!” on his social media.
“Man, what’s up, everybody? I had a great Father’s Day, and before I lie down and go to bed tonight, I just wanted to say, Go Commanders! Go Commanders, man! Go Commanders! Raise Hell, take command!” Aiyuk said.

Aiyuk has dealt with an immense injury history, to the point where the last time he played was during the 2024 season, missing the entirety of the 2025 season, despite signing a four-year, $120 million contract. If there is one thing for certain, it’s that a divorce between San Francisco and Aiyuk is likely coming soon, and the 28-year-old has made his preferred destination well-known in the Commanders.
It remains to be seen if it happens, as Washington looks to improve after finishing with a 5-12 record, putting them third in the NFC East.
